Travel Day - Nanjing, Jiangsu

Today was a travel day for us. All of the families with our agency headed to the Beijing Airport after breakfast to catch our flights to the capital cities of the provinces our children are from. Three of the six families including us headed to Nanjing, the provincial capital of Jiangsu, while the other three families headed to three separate provinces. Our agency guide, Zhou, came with us because our group had the most families and all of our children are from the orphanage that has a partnership with our agency.

We dropped the other families off at their terminal first and then headed to our terminal (did I mention the Beijing Airport is huge? and smoggy?), and upon arriving at the check in counter we learned that our flight had been delayed (anyone seeing a pattern here?), so once we had our boarding passes and cleared security we settled down to wait.

smog at the Beijing airport (this was at 9:00 in the morning)

The flight from Beijing to Nanjing was about two hours, but by the time we collected our luggage, took the van to our hotel, and checked in it was close to dinner time. Our hotel was connected to a mall so before dinner Zhou took us on a little tour of the mall and surrounding area.

Another busy day done and tomorrow afternoon we meet our son!
But first...Zhou says we must squeeze in a bit more sightseeing :)
